Bay College | Escanaba

Bay College is a big-time, small community college with the main campus at the heart of Delta County in Escanaba. The college offers 70+ associate degree and certificate programs.

  • A student to faculty ratio of 15:1 sets students up for success 

  • The Water Resource Management program is one of the few of its kind in the entire nation and graduates are highly sought after for competitive positions

  • Bay College was named a 2019 Leader College of Distinction by Achieving the Dream

Lake Superior State University Regional Center | Escanaba

Bay College is home to Lake Superior State University’s Escanaba Regional Center. This partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie-based university offers students the chance to complete 1 of 13 bachelor’s degree programs without needing to leave Delta County. Courses are offered on-campus, online, and in hybrid formats.

Workforce Training

MTEC at Bay College | Escanaba
The MTEC (Michigan Technical Education Center) at Bay College provides non-credit workforce training and educational opportunities to professionals. The MTEC offers:

​

  • Customized solutions for workforce development

  • Valuable benefits for local employers, community members, and students

  • Expansion and development of personal and professional skills

  • A dedicated team works directly with employers to assess training needs, tailor programs and deliver training on the employer’s schedule.

Delta-Schoolcraft Intermediate School District

The Delta-Schoolcraft Intermediate School District (DSISD) serves a pivotal role in providing many 

career-technical services and career preparatory programs to the county’s school districts. As one of 57 ISDs in Michigan, the agency regularly collaborates with higher education institutions, school districts, businesses, and non-profits to make the best use of resources and set students up for workforce success. Career prep opportunities at the DSISD include courses such as:

  • Construction Trade

  • Health Occupations

  • Machining

  • IT Essentials

  • Automotive Technology

​

Additional programs support both general and special education at the K-12 level in Delta County. There is also a Learning Center for students age 3-26 with moderate to severe impairments who need extra support, resources, or services.

Delta County is a "school of choice" district, allowing students to attend one of many amazing schools. Graduation rates in Delta County exceed the national average and students learn in accommodating, welcoming environments with exceptional educators and cutting-edge technology.
